Design and Data Management System for professional kitchen, furniture and interior design
Vertex InD is a CAD and data management system for professional kitchen, furniture and interior design. Vertex InD can be used to design separate pieces or sets of furniture, to plan the utilisation of space, and to fit furniture into that space. Additionally, Vertex InD prepares the documents needed for manufacturing, marketing and sales. Vertex InD contains software which can be used to design a unit to fit the customer’s specific needs and operations model. Examples of these are Kitchen design, Furniture design and Layout design and applications.
Kitchen Design
The Kitchen design software can be used to quickly produce a three-dimensional model of a kitchen, from which working drawings and different design options can be automatically derived and calculated, complete with several alternatives. The required documents can automatically be printed from the 3D kitchen model:
- quick placement
- a wide and varied range of updateable product libraries
- the system includes many automatic functions for making the design process easier, such as edge trim and door replacement
- compiling a furniture catalogue
- automatic cost calculation
Furniture design
Making a 3D product model of furniture:
- by changing the parametric dimensions of an existing model, and by modifying an existing piece chosen from the drawings archive by starting from a "clean slate", using the VERTEX furniture design tools to model a piece of furniture using sheet and profile structures or unrestricted forms, and choosing the materials and their colours
Using the model
- for compiling furniture sets with specific assembly management tools, i.e., automatically-produced exploded views, joint types, edge trims, etc.
- visual presentations are produced to guide product developmentand decision making, and to replace manufactured prototypes
Manufacturing drawings and dimensions are automatically derived from the 3D product model:
- readily defined plan views and axonometric projections
- the designs are automatically updated when the product model has been altered
- the machinings needed for the parts, such as drillings, are automatically displayed in the drawings, complete with measurements
- text, measurements and other markings can be inserted into the drawings The product model can be "exploded" in order to generate assembly illustrations for the benefit of company production, and for assembly instructions for the customers.
Interior Layout Design and Modeling
Layout design software can be efficiently used to produce a model of a single room or large shop. Layout design is carried out either in the form of a plan drawing model or a three-dimensional model. A viewing point can be added to the plan, and by looking through a model window the corresponding perspective can be seen, which also allows modifications to be made. The use of building parts such as walls, windows, floors and ceilings makes VERTEX a quick, easy way to design interior spaces.
The VERTEX 3D product model contains product information regarding costs, as well as all the materials and work stages needed. These in turn can be used to provide:
- information about product structure, and lists of parts
- lists of work stages
- estimates of the quantities of material needed, working allowance included
- manufacturing information, e.g. for linking with a plant control system
- control of the 3D model and the product information and drawings related to it
- control of different versions
Sales and Marketing
The following qualities of VERTEX Interior serve the needs of marketing and sales:
- visualised presentations in which colours are true and material surfaces are realistic
- placement of furniture in their actual environment, i.e. into readily modelled interior spaces with different lighting solutions
- Internet browsers can be used to explore the furniture models
