VERTEX VIEWER
VERTEX Viewer is a free application for browsing and printing VERTEX 3D-models and 2D-drawings.
VERTEX Viewer can be used in Window NT, Windows 98 and Windows 95 operating systems.
PDF FORMAT
VERTEX documents can be recorded in the PDF format which is popular distribution format for the documents. PDF files can be browsed and printed with several programs which supports PDF format.
For instance Acrobat Reader is a free PDF browser program which is available for several operating systems. Acrobat Reader can be downloaded from: www.adobe.com.
PDF format is vector graphics from which high-quality outputs can be obtained in the necessary sizes. With a new 'Graphics Select Tool' selected areas can be printed in a version 5 of the Acrobat Reader. This way necessary portions of a very large drawing can be printed e.g to A4 or A3 sizes. The texts of the drawings will come as texts to the PDF file in which case text searches can be made from it.
PDF file with the contents tree can be produced with the VERTEX PDF function. The contents is created automatically on the basis of the information in the drawing archives. Links to other PDF files, to local documents (e.g. Excel or Word documents) or to internet sites can also be added to the contents of the PDF file. In an example below there is a link to the VERTEX Electrical Engineering home site. Drawings can be produced with colors or in black and white. Original line widths or thin hair line can be used. Functional links can be added to the position and off page references of the drawing. In an example below links are marked with green rectangles. Markins are not printable and those can be left out if necessary.

Viewing application
The viewing application is a chargeable restricted version of the VERTEX program which is fitted to the customer's needs. With the viewing application it is for instance possible to make notes on the drawings for designers to read. Depending on the settings it can also be possible to edit databases and text documents with the viewing application.
The functions and user interface of the viewing application can be customized according to the customer's needs. The viewing application can for instance be configured to the needs of the operating personnel so that one can only browse revisions of the documents which are marked as EXECUTED.
