Architectural Design

Simultaneous Design in True 3D Model and Plan View

Work with VERTEX BD is based on an intelligent entity model, which connects the plan and the 3-D model without any visible trace. For example, if a window is placed in the 3-D model, the plan is also immediately updated. The 2-D view is always a real architectural plan representation complying with architectural standards and containing no irrelevant information. Simultaneous working with the plan and the 3-D model is possible, as is switching between them, even in the middle of operations. The smooth link between two and three-dimensional design not only speeds up the design process, but also makes it easier. Furthermore, it ensures that the model, the plan, and the printouts correspond to each other.

Effective Design Tools

The bulk of the building is sketched either directly as a three-dimensional view or as a traditional plan. Basic models with pre-set parameters, which can also be created by the user, can be applied in the designing the major part of the building. Practical modelling tools help determine the shape of the model, while easy-to-use design instruments can be used to complete the printouts. VERTEX BD automatically adapts the basic draft of the plan to a predetermined building component. The basic model remains, allowing changes to be made to it later. Changes made to the basic model are imposed on the actual model, and printouts are made of this updated model. The designer creates a detailed model from building components which the computer adapts to certain standardised rules, and consequently merges them into the model. The intelligent model created, is consequently used by the program to automatically produce cross-sections, elevation drawings, material estimates and proposal documents.

VERTEX BD’s superior characteristics allow work to be done with very large buildings and three-dimensional models. Hidden groups can be created freely in the model, symbols can be presented precisely or roughly, and the model can be divided freely into parts. Perspective drawings can be easily created straight from the plans, while alterations to the model can be made in the perspective drawings. The user can easily and freely move around and inside the model for making interactive design changes and to produce realistic presentations. Vertex visualization tools provide high quality, photo-realistic renderings for sales and marketing purposes.
